Energy Poverty Policy and Studies

The emergence of energy poverty as a significant issue on the government’s agenda was most apparent in the government’s Energy White Paper 2007 to 2020, National Energy Efficiency Action Plan 2009 to 2020 and the National Action Plan for Social Inclusion 2007 to 2016.

On the subject of energy poverty the Government’s recent Affordable Energy Strategy in particular sets out clear objectives and responsibilities for relevant Departments, Agencies and Energy Suppliers.
