I am a Renewable Installer

SEAI are mandated to develop and maintain a 'Renewable Installers Register' in line with certain requirements of the EU Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources.

The register lists the details of suitably qualified Installers of the following technologies: Small-scale biomass boilers and stoves, Solar photovoltaic (Solar PV), Solar thermal systems (Solar Water Heating), Shallow geothermal systems and Heat Pumps.

The objectives of the Renewable Installers Register are to:

- Support homeowners in selecting suitability qualified installers of certain renewable technologies
- Reduce energy use, costs and greenhouse gas emissions
- Build market capacity and competence by driving contractor training standards
- Working towards reaching common ground for the certification of installers of Renewable Energy Technologies through the EU member states

Inclusion on the Renewable Installers Register does not confer eligibility for undertaking works on grant schemes. The Better Energy Homes scheme operates a separate registered contractor list with separate Terms and Conditions for registration.
