Research in Ireland on Smart Grids

Centre for Renewable Energy at Dundalk ITCREDIT was established in June 2002. Its mission is to assist with Ireland’s coming transition to a renewable energy-based economy. It is in the process of becoming a national focal point for renewable energy research.

DEL is a leader in science and engineering energy research in Ireland with an associated staff of fourteen academics, four full time researchers, fifteen full and part time PhD researchers and three MPhil researchers. DEL conducts research in the areas of:

Electricity Research Centre, UCDThe ERC is an industry-university research collaboration with research driven by the energy industry worldwide and a particular emphasis on the Irish electricity sector. The ERC is based in Electrical Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD), has a branch in Economics at Trinity College Dublin (TCD)
The Energy Research Centre (ERC)The Energy Research Centre (ERC), within the Environmental Change Institute at NUI Galway, aims to engage in research, education and outreach in the fields of Energy and Environment.  The Centre brings together more than 100 academic staff and researchers.
