Project Information:

The really interesting aspect of this project was the piping of hot water, back and forth two kilometres between separate sites. The water was heated using recovered heat from processes that were happening anyway. 90% of the operation’s hot water needs are now met in this way.

The project’s Energy Manager took full responsibility for the risks involved in encompassing two heat recovery elements linked by a 1km district heating pipe which were successfully installed and now deliver annual cost savings of €350,000.
