Diageo applied the SEAI Energy Efficient Design methodology to the €168 million upgrade project at their flagship Brewery at St James’s Gate. The new design will deliver a total annual energy saving of approximately €2.5million each year.
Energy efficiency is a core objective for Diageo who work with their supply and distribution network to ensure superior energy standards.
This application of world class energy efficient design demonstrated leadership in that St. James’s Gate Brewery is now best in class in energy efficient brewing. Diageo has since applied this methodology to other breweries throughout their network yielding substantial savings outside of Ireland.
