Queally Group, the food-processing facility based in Naas, has undertaken several energy saving projects with wide-ranging benefits. The installation of a de-superheater, condenser and oil cooling recovery system had savings of 44% energy, which was then used to heat water. An old, inefficient boiler was replaced with a new gas boiler which saved over €500,000. Queally Group’s energy projects, like changes to the evaporator system, have seen energy reductions of up to 50% across its facilities, including packaging, storage, labour and transport. These changes have also meant that a new range of products is possible to manufacture.
