The SEAI Energy Show will not take place in 2027

Over the past 30 years, The SEAI Energy Show has played a hugely important role in helping to showcase sustainable energy technologies, supporting market development and connecting thousands of suppliers, businesses, public sector organisations and other stakeholders. Over that period, Ireland’s sustainable energy sector has changed significantly, maturing greatly. Technologies and services that were once emerging are now increasingly mainstream.

Sustainable energy is no longer an emerging or specialist category; it is now central to national policy, business planning, public sector delivery, household decision-making and Ireland’s wider competitiveness. At the same time, SEAI now has a broader suite of targeted programmes, conference partnerships, awards, stakeholder networks and sector-specific engagement platforms that speak to audiences once served by a single catch-all event.

For that reason, SEAI will pause the Energy Show in its current format in 2027 while it reviews the most effective future model for customer and stakeholder engagement. This pause will allow SEAI to consider how best to support industry, business, public sector, supply chain and consumer audiences in a way that is focused, relevant and aligned with Ireland’s clean energy transition. This is not a step back from engagement. Rather it is an opportunity to ensure SEAI’s future engagement models are designed around customer and market needs, strategic priorities and long-term impact.
