Summary

The Behavioural Energy and Travel Tracker (BETT) is a nationally representative online survey designed by SEAI’s Behavioural Economics Unit. The tracker uses a behavioural science technique known as the “Day Reconstruction Method” to gather accurate and granular data about travel and home energy behaviours in Ireland. It also collects data on factors that may be related to energy behaviours, such as psychological factors, energy poverty, and dwelling and sociodemographic characteristics. We have published two reports detailing the results from the first winter (December 2022 – April 2023) and summer (May – September 2023). BETT ran monthly from December 2022 to December 2023 and continues to run on a quarterly basis.

This dataset contains data from the first 13 waves of BETT, collected monthly between December 2022 and December 2023. Further data releases will follow. If anything in the document is unclear or needs further attention, please contact [email protected].
