The SEAI Energy Academy is a free, online, e-learning platform designed to help businesses increase their energy efficiency and reduce their energy related costs.
Flexible, free online learning
The SEAI Energy Academy allows anyone to learn with short, interactive, animated modules. It's mobile friendly and offers flexible, self-paced learning with access available 24/7.
Who should sign up
We encourage business owners, CEOs, managers, and facilities teams to join the SEAI Energy Academy and start learning. The SEAI Energy Academy courses are also a great way of engaging, up-skilling, and retaining staff. Our courses can be implemented into any business's sustainability strategy helping them embed energy efficiency across their organisation.
Subjects covered

Learning level
There are no criteria to join the SEAI Energy Academy. Modules and courses are at an introductory level and are a mix of technical and non-technical subjects.
Time requirement
Modules: 15-20 mins
Courses: 2.5 hours
Assessment and certification
Each module includes an assessment and 75% is required to pass. Learners receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion of a course.

SEAI's free 'Introduction to Energy Management' is a lively, interactive workshop, run by experienced energy advisors.
Who should attend
The workshop is aimed at the owners, senior managers and facilities managers of small and medium enterprises who have recently started out on their energy saving journey. Please note that this workshop has been developed specifically for SMEs and is not currently open to industry professionals or consultants.
Subjects covered
Using SEAI's Energy Management Guide and Energy Management Workbook, the workshop will:
- take you through the steps to implement an energy management plan
- teach you the techniques to help make energy management second nature
- help you to permanently lower your bills and protect your profits
Learning level
This workshop is an introduction to the topic and attendees are not required to have any preexisting knowledge of energy management.
Time requirement
The course consists of 2 one-hour sessions, held in one afternoon.
