Dr. Barry McCarron is Managing Director of KORE Retrofit, a leading One Stop Shop for retrofit solutions in Ireland. With a PhD in indoor radon monitoring in Passive House buildings, he also holds an honours degree in Architectural Technology and an MSc in Sustainable Development. A former chair of the Passive House Association of Ireland, Barry is a strong advocate for climate action, participating in COP17, 26, and 27. His research on building energy performance and indoor air quality has been presented at top institutions, including the University of Toronto and Penn State. He serves on Northern Ireland’s Ministerial Advisory Group for architecture and the RSUA Climate Change Committee. Recognised for his contributions to sustainability, he has received awards such as the Belfast Builder’s Association Outstanding Achievement Award and the Gibson Institute Scholarship, reflecting his leadership in sustainable development and energy-efficient building practices.

Cathal D'Arcy is the founder of BERGO, an innovative energy assessment software designed to help Building Energy Rating (BER) assessors streamline their onsite process. With a background in the energy efficiency sector and hands-on experience as a BER assessor, Cathal recognised the challenges of paper-based workflows and set out to create a fully digital solution. We are actively collaborating with Enterprise Ireland, WISAR Gateway at ATU, and Data2Sustain - A European Digital Innovation hub to lead a team of two software engineers and an R&D engineer to deliver a high quality solution for BER assessors.

Previously he was the Country Marketing Manager UK, Ireland & Northern Europe for KEBA an Austrian EV charger manufacturer.
