We’re proud to sponsor two action oriented and student centred programmes, the Irish Schools Sustainability Network (ISSN) and Eco-Unesco’s Young Environmental Award.

ISSN Student Ambassador Programme 2024/2025

About the programme

The programme is an opportunity for students to collaborate with other students in schools across Ireland on the topics of sustainability and climate change.  They hear from an impressive array of guest speakers, increase their knowledge and understanding of climate and nature issues, develop invaluable skills and work on a climate action project with their fellow ambassadors.  Learn more about the programme in this video.

ECO UNESCO’s Young Environmentalist Award 2024/2025

About the sponsorship

The YEA empowers young people to build awareness of environmental issues in their community and promote local action and lifestyle changes.  Young people of all ages enter projects on a range of topics aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals such as energy, biodiversity, waste, water, transport and many more.  They get to pitch their projects to a panel of expert judges at Eco Dens around Ireland in March. The finalists then showcase their projects at an awards ceremony in May where the winners are announced.

What is involved?

Students are given a platform to demonstrate their creativity and innovation when it comes to sustainable energy.  We sponsor the “energy” category and are delighted to judge at both the Eco Dens and final awards ceremony.  Our staff are always bowled over by the standard of the projects, their innovation and commitment to climate action.  Projects have ranged from solar for schools, using renewable energy for charging phones at school to last year’s senior winners from St Andrew’s College, Dublin who researched and created their own biodiesel in a home lab.
