To carry out Display Energy Certificate assessments, you must first register with SEAI. Find out about working as a DEC assessor and the steps to register.

How to register as a DEC assessor

Step 1 - Standards of knowledge and competency

You must be a registered non-domestic BER Assessor to be eligible to become a DEC Assessor. Learn about the process involved with becoming a non-domestic BER Assessor. Once you've completed this process, you can also become a DEC Assessor.

Register as a non-domestic BER assessor

Step 2 - Complete BER training

You must complete a DEC Assessor workshop. To register your interest for any future DEC workshop, please contact the BER helpdesk on [email protected].

Step 3 - Apply to register

Apply to become a DEC assessor using the DEC Assessor Registration Form. Email your completed form to [email protected].

Step 4 - Registration details

Once you complete the online module, you will receive:

  • Your DEC Assessor registration number
  • Access to the National Administration System (NDNAS) to publish DEC assessments

Your name will also appear on the National Register of BER Assessors.
