SEAI offers financial support to help your business move to renewable heat. Learn more about your options and find out if you are eligible.

Concerned about the cost of moving to renewable heat?

SEAI gives businesses an incentive to make the switch. The heat pump grant and biomass or biogas tariff will help bridge the gap between the installation and operating costs of renewable heat. This financial incentive is called the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH).

SSRH financial supports

There are two types of financial supports available under the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat. If eligible, your business may apply for one of these support schemes.

1. Installation grant

An installation grant of up to 40% for investment in renewable heating systems using:

  • Air source heat pumps
  • Ground source heat pumps
  • Water source heat pumps

2. Operational support

Ongoing financial support in the form of a tariff. This tariff will support the operation of your renewable heating system for up to 15 years. The tariff is based on useable heat output in renewable heating systems. This can apply to new heating system installations or installations that convert from fossil fuel to:

  • Biomass boilers or biomass HE CHP heating systems
  • Biogas (anaerobic digestion) boilers or biogas HE CHP heating systems
